Rune Werner Molnes (1978) - photographer, environmental activist and visual artist who mainly focuses on subjects such as existentialism, landscape conservation and rural decay.
These are some of the themes that he sheds light on in his project "Entropy", which was recently accepted for the West Norway exhibition (Vestlandsutstillingen). The same project was exhibited in Trondheim last year, at Galleri SG. A solo exhibition that was well received by Adresseavisen's art critic, Gustav Borgersen.
"Unworldly Landscape" is a project that has been created during seven long study stays in Iceland, where he also collaborated with environmental organizations for the protection of unique areas in the Icelandic highlands. The latter project has, among other things, resulted in a solo exhibition at Galleri Fóld in Reykjavik, as well as art purchases for the Norwegian Representation Office in Palestine and the Icelandic Consulate in Detroit, USA.
Recently, photos from his project "Authentic Landscape" were acquired by the the Japanese Consulate in Norway. The project was commissioned work for UiB that was created through a year of free project work with an accompanying solo exhibition during the opening of the new Lønningen Lystgård and the expansion of the Botanical Garden.
Rune has long been a working board chairman here at Isotop Fellesatelier, where he has his studio on the third floor. He has an educational background from philosophy studies at UiB, a master's degree from NHH and he is mainly self-taught in photography with over 20 years of work in the professional art field. He is also a board member of BKFH (Visual Artists' Association Hordaland) and Hordaland Kunstsenter (HKS).
Molnes has had several solo exhibitions at home and abroad in recent years, and his art can be found in private and public collections. He has been among the finalists of the "European Fine Art Photograph of the Year", with participation in the subsequent traveling exhibition in Europe. He also received the highest award in the "Prix De La Photographie Paris". Rune's art is represented at leading galleries in cities such as Reykjavik, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger and Oslo.

Sistnevnte prosjekt har blant annet resultert separatutstilling hos Galleri Fóld i Reykjavik, samt innkjøp til Det Norske Representasjonskontoret i Palestina og Islands Konsulat i Detroit, USA.
Nylig ble bilder fra hans prosjekt «Ærlig Landskap» innkjøpt til Japans Konsulat i Norge. Prosjektet var et bestillingsverk fra UiB som ble til gjennom et års fritt prosjektarbeid med tilhørende separatutstilling under åpningen av nye Lønningen Lystgård og utvidelsen av Botanisk Hage.
